About 'LEGACY'
Sisters Susan and Elizabeth Yeats were in the vanguard of the revival of Irish art and artisan crafts in the early part of the last century. As print artists they published many of the great Irish writers of their time including their brother W.B. Yeats, through their printing company Cuala Press. Elizabeth also authored a number of stunningly illustrated books on how to paint flowers using watercolours. Susan was born in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo in 1866, we celebrate the 150th year since her birth with the inaugural exhibition from this first National Fine Art Print Competition.
LEGACY is organised by Hamilton Gallery in association with Tread Softly Festival, Yeats Day, Sligo County Council Arts Service and the Western Development Commission
